Quiralidad
«Chirality» in spanish
DEFINITION : Chirality (from the Greek χείρ, kheir: hand) is an important property linking the notions of symmetry and orientation, occurring in various branches of science. An object or system is called chiral if it is not superimposable on its image in a mirror.
Two bodies in apparent symmetry. Two bodies that communicate through gesture, one in the flamenco language, the other in contemporary movement. The two dancers seem to dialogue through a distorting mirror that creates similar but singular images, that transposes them, composes them, but does not superimpose them.
Flamenca dance and contemporary dance are opposite in their techniques and expressiveness. Based on a common choreographic code, 2 dancers create a dialogue and hybridize their aesthetics, for example through the compass, a rhythm specific to flamenco, which will make them musician dancers. 4 boards draw a sound stage space and constitute spaces suitable for the construction of images where the dancers are isolated as in a photographic frame, unless they free themselves from it and evolve in the free spaces that they draw . A play of symmetry/asymmetry and porosity take place at the heart of this duo and lead it to mimicry, to encounters, or to ruptures, to the construction of a singular relationship as through a distorting mirror. Mediation actions are planned in the form of restitutions and discussions with the public on the creation in progress.
