Flamenco Journey
cultural mediation - flamenco journey sung and danced
Flamenco Journey is a small all-terrain form with a cultural and educational aim designed to meet audiences in different types of places and for small groups of spectators (schools, nursing homes, hospitals, prisons, rural homes, etc.). Focused on the roots of flamenco, the duo adapts to the references of specific audiences to tell them the origins of this art registered as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, in song, dance and music. From Andalusian folklore to the meeting between gypsies and freed slaves in the Triana neighborhoods, from traditional genres born from forges to the poetry of Garcia Lorca, from the Alegrias carried by the wind of Cadiz to the serious expressions of the Tientos of the shepherds, the duo travels through the history of flamenco by highlighting the links with other genres, such as the waltz, hip-hop, Latin music...
This duo show is also designed for mediation actions, such as creations shared with amateurs and the integration of a "juerga": a moment of festive artistic sharing that is often practiced informally, and which usually closes flamenco shows in their traditional form. The show is particularly well suited to school audiences, thanks to possible links with several disciplines: music, sport, Spanish, history.
The Flamenco Journey show is on Pass culture.
